Gedenkfeier in Oberwart 15 Jahre nach Bombenattentat
Mit einer Gedenkfeier und einem Ökumenischen Gebet wird am Donnerstagabend in Oberwart der vier Todesopfer des Rohrbombenattentats auf die Romasiedlung Am Anger vom 4. Februar 1995 gedacht. An der Gedenkveranstaltung, die um 18 Uhr am Ort des damaligen Mordanschlags beginnt, werden gemeinsam mit zahlreichen Volksgruppenvertretern der Roma auch der Eisenstädter Diözesanbischof Paul Iby, der burgenländische Superintendent Manfred Koch und Verteidigungsminister Norbert Darabos teilnehmen. Prof. Rudolf Sarközi, Vorsitzender des Volksgruppenbeirats der Roma, wird eine Gedenkrede halten, Johann Baranyai eine Botschaft von Bundespräsident Heinz Fischer verlesen.

Vier Roma – Peter Sarközi, Josef Simon, Karl und Erwin Horvath – wollten ein auf dem Weg vor ihrer Siedlung angebrachtes Schild mit der Aufschrift „Roma zurück nach Indien“ entfernen.
