Von Beginn an waren die Roma ein besonderes Anliegen Yoshkas und seiner Mitarbeiter. „Dem Menschen helfen, seine Existenz sichern, seine soziale Situation verbessern und die rechtliche Situation stabilisieren“ ist eines der Ziele, die sich das Komitee zur Aufgabe gesetzt hat. „Die Kirche will aktiv daran arbeiten, dass die Volksgruppe der Roma einen Platz in der Gesellschaft bekommt“, sagt Monika Scheweck, die beim diesjährigen CCIT-Treffen in Cavallino in der Nähe von Venedig war. „Visionen sind wichtig, denn wenn man diesen nachgeht und sie auch umsetzt, dann kann für beide Seiten sich nur alles zum Positiven wenden. Wichtig ist aber auch, dass sich Roma und Nicht-Roma für eine gemeinsame Zukunft stark machen“, betont Monika Scheweck.
